Student Requests (Classroom)
In order to receive interpreting or speech-to-text transcription services while attending UNLV, students must register with the Disability Resource Center. Once registered, students must submit an Accommodation Request Form identifying the classes they wish accommodations for each semester.
Arranging these services takes considerable time and planning. Students requiring these services are eligible for priority registration in courses. Students should request services each semester as soon after they register as possible.
All interpreter/transcriber requests are to be made only through the DRC. Students who schedule interpreters/transcribers on their own assume the responsibility of all associated costs.
Student Requests (Nonclassroom)
The Disability Resource Center provides communication access for nonclassroom activities upon request. These activities include meetings with instructors, tutorial sessions, advising, workshops, and student organization activities. In order to provide this service, requests should be made one week prior to the event.
